Plenary Indulgences and the Hospitalité

By a Decree of the Holy See, dated 18th December 2001, the following indulgences and spiritual favours were made available to the members of the Irish Hospitalité.

The Apostolic Penitentiary has granted the favour of Plenary Indulgence on certain occasions in the life of members of the Irish Hospitalité of our Lady of Lourdes as follows:

A Plenary Indulgence can be obtained by members of the Hospitalité under the normal conditions – Sacramental Confession, reception of Holy Communion and prayer for the Pope’s intentions.

Every attachment to sin should be absent and the member should make or renew, at least privately, the promise of faithfully keeping the proper Constitution. A Plenary Indulgence can be obtained by members of the Hospitalité on the following days:

The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes 11th February

  • The Feast of the Assumption 15th August
  • The Feast of the Immaculate Conception 8th December 

A Plenary Indulgence can also be obtained on the occasion of the Annual General Meeting of the Hospitalité.

For individual members, a Plenary Indulgence can be obtained on the occasion of their joining the Hospitalité, and on the 25th, 50th, 60th and 75th anniversary of their belonging to the Hospitalité.
